K. Grenfell left Kingston University in 1991 and has since worked as a professional artist with commissions for a variety of clients around the globe. In 2002 Karen set up her own creative enterprise, Mimi and Mimilove.co.uk , providing a range of artworks from pop art style contemporary portraiture, traditional watercolours and collage for both individual and commercial clientelle.
In 2004 & 2005 works appeared at the Birmingham Nec as part of Memorabilia UK show, it was these appearances that led to several works being signed by celebrities; from sporting heroes including World Cup winner Sir Geoff Hurst MBE and boxing legend Sir Henry Cooper OBE. It was this that eventually lead to the auctioning of the Sir Henry Cooper portrait at Sotheby's sporting memorabilia sale later that year. Mimilove went onto have works signed by Hollywood superstar David Carridine, "Bill" in Quentin Tarrantino's Kill Bill movies and former Bond girl Britt Ekland.
MimiLove has also been involved with provding bespoke illustrations and artworks for one of the UK's premier recording facilities Blast Recording, VIFI Award winning indi film maker's Brand New Films and children's author Beki Hough. A collaboration with entrepreneur Steve Wraith and Punk legend and former Sex Pistol Glen Matlock helped to raise funds for children's charity The Bubble Foundation UK and is currently involved in a project with former Scorpions keyboard player and prog rock musician John Young
Future projects will see a range of more textural, mixed media works and also a Mimilove range of wearable art/jewellery.
